The establishment of modern seminary establishments was a direct outcome of Roman Catholic reforms of the Counter-Reformation after the Council of Trent. This reform insisted on the enrichment of the teaching of clergy by way of producing seminaries as live-in establishments which would be below the rigorous control of elderly clergy. The creation of minor seminaries to educate young boys for the priesthood followed this first movement. A Online Seminary pattern named the Tridentine was that of a live in monastic community where lifestyle and petition were closely supervised and disciplined as a means to reclaiming pre-Reformation mistreats among the clergy.
