Parachutes were first used as life saving devices during World War I and II. After that they were used for rescue missions and to drop supplies and relief goods from airplanes. It has evolved into a popular extreme sport for the more adventurous adrenaline junkies. Today, there are different kinds of parachuting sports. There is BASE jumping wherein the parachuter jumps off tall structures like buildings and high cliffs. You see parachutes attached to speed boats at beach resorts. Parachutes are even used to slow down planes and racing cars before they can do a full stop. Yes, the parachute has come a long way from the days of war.

Lindsey Vonn plans to race on Wednesday night despite having a badly bruised right shin. It will be interesting to see how Vonn does and if this injury will affect her performance. Vonn is still expected to medal even with her injury. She is hoping to become the second usa women’s athlete to win a gold medal at these Olympic games.

It should be a very exciting night because there is also the men’s snowboarding halfpipe and short track going on. Shaun White is the clear favorite in the halfpipe and Apolo Anton Ohno will race in the 1,000 meter short track event.

I have a new spyder electra. I got it from my grandmother. I asked my parents to buy one for me but they never did. So I asked my grandma, and she said yes right away. I have some shoes that I have been wearing for about 5 years now. I know most people say that you need to get new basketball shoes every year, but I just do not play all that hard, and I do not play all the time, either. But, I just found a pair of Jordan 21 shoes that I love a lot. If I could get those, I would just love it. I happen to live by a lot of older people.  They love their life and they love their golf.  The great thing about that is the business that I happen to run.  I am currently selling off Club Car golf carts that I fix up myself.  It’s something that I got started with 3 years ago and have been making a killing ever since.  The golf community I live in is filled with these things and everyone uses their golf carts as their regular vehicle for getting around town.  It’s a great way for them to save money on fuel and other expenses.
