Hard rock music has long evolved from its origins in the 1960’s. Whereas before it was simply just a harder version of classic rock, at present it has branched out into may subgenres catering to different fans. The pioneers of hard rock in the 1990’s include Van Halen, Metallica, and Guns n’ Roses, with Aerosmith and Bon Jovi occasionally doing hard rock in their albums. These prominent bands, all of which started in either the 70’s or 80’s, shaped hard rock scene into what it is now – a collection of hard rock music which spans generations and cultures, still making their influence felt up to this day.
